Victory Sandwich Bar
In Inman Park there’s a sandwich spot that offers sandwiches and one of the city’s best patios for people-watching. Victory Sandwich is located on Elizabeth Street, opposite Savi Urban Market, and for a few dollars you can pick up sandwiches from a classic Cuban (called the Castro) or the vegetarian Weed Eater.
Your best bet is to pick a couple of different sandwiches and sample your way through the menu until you’ve figured out what you like, and at $4 a pop, it’s an affordable strategy.
And if you’re in the neighborhood after dark, Victory is open until 2am, serving cocktails like their famous (it was featured on Anthony Bourdain’s The Layover: Atlanta) Jack and Coke Slushie, and there’s a ping-pong table available for some light-hearted trash talking. Perfect for those 80 degree Atlanta summer evenings.
Highlights
Salad
How beautiful is this salad! A fresh bed of arugala with beets, mandarin oranges, and a summery citrus dressing? YES PLEASE! Here’s to deliciously healthy food!
Castro
While Castro might be polarizing in his homeland, the sandwich named for him is a favorite with most Victory Sandwich regulars. Pork, mustard, pickles, and cheese on pressed Cuban bread. It’s like a checklist of things to love, all put in a sandwich.
Bonyou
Don’t be selfish- This isn’t about BonMI, it’s about BonYOU! Victory’s spin on the classic has all the essentials: spicy mayo, cucumber, carrots, pork, and love!
