Sprig
Sprig is, as the Web site proclaims, “a community centered restaurant” in the Oak Grove neighborhood on LaVista Road, a little way north of Clairmont Road. It serves Southern comfort food, made with locally sourced ingredients, and it’s giving the locals something to talk about in an area that is already home to an eclectic mix of cuisines.
Acknowledging the predominance of family homes in the area, Sprig goes to great lengths to provide an inclusive environment for families with children. From an extensive kids’ menu that goes beyond chicken nuggets and fish sticks, to a locker filled with games to keep the little ones occupied.
Highlights
Duck Succotash
A barley succotash with corn, carrots & pearl onions is laid atop an orange sauce. Next, take some super tender, moist duck & slice that up. Finish it off with some cranberry relish & you’ve got yourself a winner winner duck dinner!
Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken
Crispy breading surrounding moist Springer Mountain fried chicken; it’s served with wild mushroom and cabbage casserole and a sage gouda cream. Did we mention it’s incredibly flavorful and tastes amazing? Did we need to?
Fried Green Tomatoes
It’s the song of the south, y’all! Sweet n’ savory lemon basil creme fraiche drizzled over crispy, fresh green tomatoes & paired with a grape tomato salad.
