The Best Mocktails and Zero Proof Shops in Atlanta

Across the country, folks are looking for alternatives to alcohol. In fact, according to recent studies, “young adults are drinking less frequently” and are “less likely to drink to excess”. But young people around Atlanta still socialize with friends at restaurants and their homes. And that social desire to have a drink in hand has spurned the rise of zero proof shops around Atlanta, and mocktail additions to the City’s best restaurants. We’re highlighting some of our favorites below.

1. Boone’s

Overlooking the Bobby Jones Golf Course on Northside Drive, Boone’s is a lovely restaurant to grab a bite at after a round of golf, or simply just because. If you’re partaking in Dry January but still want something fun to sip on, you’ll be taken care of here. Try the Winter Blues or CBD Transfusion mocktails this month!

2. Elemental Spirits Co

Elemental Spirits Co is easy to find if you’ve ever been to Manuel’s Tavern – they’re right next door. It’s a great stop for folks in your group who drink and don’t drink. They focus exclusively on small batch spirits, natural/low intervention wine, and local craft beer, but they also have a great selection of canned and bottled NA drinks. 3. Fire Maker Brewing

Make Dry January fun again! Drinking real cocktails or not, it’s always a good time at Fire Maker. They are constantly hosting lively events like karaoke night and trivia. If you’re trying to be good and stick to the zero proof stuff this month, they’ve got plenty of options. Try mocktails like their Cucumber Crush or The Lavender Dragon next time you go.

4. Little Sparrow 

1198 Howell Mill Rd #18, Atlanta, GA 30318

Little Sparrow joined the ATL dining scene at the end of 2023 and if you haven’t been yet, you gotta try it! This French restaurant in West Midtown has a small but mighty menu. From duck to bolognaise to one of the best burgers in ATL, this is a must try spot. As for their zero proof cocktails, we recommend the Rose-Colored Glasses.

5. Puttshack

If you’ve run out of activities to do while committing to Dry January, we’ve got a fun idea for you… hit up Little Sparrow for dinner and then head across the street to Puttshack! A round of mini golf is always something fun you can do with a group of friends. They also happen to have an incredible mocktails menu resembling all of your favorite cocktails. From the Peach Free Bellini to the Hibiscus Mock Mule, you’ll find something delicious to sip on during a round of the most fun mini golf experience in the city.

6. Tesserae

Tesserae is the gorgeous rooftop bar at The Thompson Hotel in Buckhead. They have all kinds of tasty bites like warm crab dip, smash burger sliders, smoked salmon chips and more. And when you need something tasty to wash it all down with but you’re staying away from alcohol? Try one of their zero proof cocktails like the Amalfi Spritz or a glass of alcohol free wine.

7. The Sober Social

Atlanta’s first NA bar has hit the scene! The Sober Social serves up both coffee and non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails in an elevated atmosphere. The Sober Social adds 20% gratuity to checks and can’t accept more than 2 separate payments to the bill.

8. Up on the Roof 

33 S Main St, Alpharetta, GA 30009

A great spot for dinner and drinks OTP is UP on the Roof in Alpharetta. This lovely rooftop overlooks all of downtown, perfect for people watching. Get together with some friends, enjoy some of the creative items on their menu like the lamburger slider or the birria “french dip” sandwich along with some mocktails. UP on the Roof is participating in Dry January through 1/31/24 with specials like the Cranberry Clean G Fizz and the Clean R Winter Daiquiri.

9. Vesper

Whether you don’t like to drink in general or you’re just giving Dry January a go, we have a spot with some terrific mocktails you’ll want to try. Sip on the Not So Stormy or a zero proof margarita while noshing on tapas at Vesper. This is a cozy spot you’ll want to sit and stay awhile.

10. The Zero Co

While they are close neighbors to another store featured on this list, Elemental Spirit Co, they have a much wider selection of bottled NA drinks. In fact, you’ll likely find more here than any other store in the Southeast. Ask staff for help – they are all incredibly informed and will find what you are looking for!
