There’s a lot to love about Atlanta neighborhood Chamblee–and the bustling dining scene, with flavors from all across the country and all around the world, is at the heart of it. Here are some must-try spots! Restaurants are listed below in no particular order.

1. Gu’s Kitchen

Sichuan at its best! Chef Gu brings the best flavors from Chengdu and that spicy, numbing Sichuan peppercorn to ATL. Their crunchy, spicy dried eggplant that are almost French fry like and their Zhong style dumplings are a crowdpleaser. Gu’s Kitchen is closed for dine-in, but they are available for delivery and takeout at this time.

2. Chinatown Mall

There’s plenty of delicious Asian eats to be found at Chamblee’s Chinatown Mall! Hole-in-the-wall spot Chong Qing Hot Pot is great value, with huge portions of spicy dried fish, saucy garlic eggplant, and Dan Dan noodles. Or pop into Hong Kong BBQ for some crazy good red BBQ pork and roast duck. And definitely be sure to take a moment to stroll through their cute-as-a-button Asian courtyard and peek into the koi pond.

3. Rojo Cocina

Rojo Cocina is brand new to Chamblee, and a welcome addition. They’ve got a great patio and outdoor bar seating that’s perfect for grabbing a margarita with friends. The service is always great, and you’ll be charmed by the colorful decor inside as well. The fajitas are irresistable and the chicken verde enchiladas are on point.

4. The Alden

It’s time we let you guys in on the secret of The Alden. This Chamblee restaurant is totally flying under-the-radar, but it’s a cannot miss spot. Chef Jared Hucks incorporates flavors from his travels all around the world, but everything is constantly rotating and made with seasonality in mind. Their scallops a la plancha incorporate fennel and saffron, and their pork belly is Thai inspired. A staple you’ll always find is their lemon tart that’s total pastry perfection! Open for dine-in, curbside delivery, takeout, and patio dining at this time.

5. Lee’s Bakery

It’s hard to find a better banh mi in Atlanta–or a better value–than Lee’s Bakery. The lines are always long out of this Atlanta institution, but for good reason! They just do what they do better than almost everyone else, and their reputation has grown. The interior is pretty simple at this hole-in-the-wall spot, but the bread’s perfectly fresh, the veggies are flavorful, and the meat portions are generous.

6. Bad Daddy’s Burger

There’s always great stuff happening at Bad Daddy’s Burger. Choose from their in-house burger options like the Bacon Cheeseburger on Steroids, the Bad Ass Burger or the Sam I Am Burger.  Or, you can create your own with literally dozens and dozens of fresh ingredients, protein options and toppings.  Something that you also can’t miss–their bad ass margaritas. There’s a two drink limit because these drinks are STRONG. The Chamblee location is available for takeout, delivery, and dine-in service at this time.

8. Lagarde American Eatery

If you still haven’t tried Lagarde, what exactly are you waiting for?  Chef Jamie Adams, who also is the chef behind Il Giallo, built Lagarde out of a desire to open a restaurant that incorporates the flavors he grew up with, having parents from New Orleans and having frequently visited New Orleans. Their po boys are perfect, their chargrilled oysters are a hit, and they’ve got a crazy good chicken sandwich you’ll keep thinking about for days. Have a seat on their gorgeous patio this fall and enjoy a Hurricane or grab some grub to go.

9. Southbound

Find creative, Southern comfort food right in heart of Chamblee. Sit down for a spell and take in the charm and warmth that emanates from each floorboard and all the rustic touches and decorations. Dig right into their smoked short rib or enjoy just the right amount of heat with their wildly popular hot chicken sandwich. And whatever you do, you MUST order the Butterscotch Blondie Sundae. Southbound is available for dine-in and takeout at this time.

Hopstix is the perfect place to be if you love robata a lotta! It’s not just handcrafted, local beer you’ll find at this Chamblee brewery, but amazing Asian fusion and tender meats and seafood like pork belly, octopus, and chicken cooked on their Japanese robata grill. Their Super Bowl is the perfect combo of umami, with sashimi, unagi, ginger, robota grilled pork belly, all mixed in with sushi rice and an addicting zuke sauce. They’re now open for dine-in and pick-up, and they’ve got a great patio as well for an al fresco experience.

11. Food Terminal

There’s so much to love about Food Terminal. It’s all of Buford Highway in one spot! They’ve got an EXPANSIVE menu that features cuisines from all over the world. Dig into the Sichuan bone marrow ramen, or go for comfort with the Grandma Wonton BBQ Pork Noodles. Their Thai tea and mango sticky rice are also top notch, and you never want to skip out on ordering some roti. It’s all great! Available for takeout and dine-in at this time.

12. Bismillah Cafe

This takeout only spot is definition of hole-in-the-wall, but they’ve got some of the best briyani in town! The next time you’re craving some comforting Indian food with just the right amount of spice, head to Bismillah Cafe on Buford Highway. Their samosas are stuffed to the brim with flavor, and their butter chicken will satisfy any appetite. Their meat is also all halal!

13. Lenox Cupcakes

Owner and Head Baker Marianne Simpson first started Lenox Cupcakes out of a home kitchen on Lenox Rd. Now, she’s expanded and brought her sweet treats and beautifully decorated cakes to Antique Row in Chamblee! There’s always a delicious seasonal treat being served up, whether it’s blueberry cakes in the summertime or pumpkin spice in the fall. Lenox Cupcakes is just a step away from Southbound, so it’s perfect for you to stop by for a sweet treat after! Available for pick-up at this time.

14. Mamak

Just a step off Buford Highway, at 2390 Chamblee Tucker Rd, is the newest Chamblee location of Mamak in the old Chom Chom location. The interior is gorgeous and the menu is packed with deliciousness. The mango chicken is saucy, sweet, fried perfection, and their char kway teow, a type of stir-fried flat noodle dish, satisfies every craving. Available for dine-in and takeout at this time.

14. Bluetop

Bluetop has got one of the best patios in Chamblee, perfect for grabbing a beer and just hanging out or listening to live music. (Did you catch the surprise Leon Bridges concert they held a few weeks ago?)  They’ve got a mean burger, super addicting yum yum cauliflower dish, and a cast iron cookie skillet that’ll satisfy any sweet tooth.
