The Best Frozen Cocktails in Atlanta

Summer in the South can feel like the tropics. It’s hot, muggy and you always want to be wearing shorts. But don’t let the humidity hamper your next hangout. Do it like they do in the Caribbean – grab a frozen cocktail to cool you on the inside so you won’t sweat so much on the outside. Here’s a few of our favorite frozen cocktails around Atlanta for when it starts to get hot out.

Frose from Amalfi Cucina and Mercato.

Amalfi – Amalfi Frose

Multiple Locations

If you’re busy in Buckhead or milling about in Midtown, stop what you’re doing and swing by Amalfi for their delicious Frose. They use Aperol, Sky Raspberry Vodka, Luna Nada Rose and peach puree. You can also top it with a spirit floater to add a little punch.

Fat Tuesday- 190 Octane

Fat Tuesday is king (in most cities) when it comes to frozen cocktails. Their OG drink is the 190 Octane which is just pure deliciousness, but they have all kinds of frozen cocktails for you to enjoy. Their Battery location is super fun and walking around the space with your souvineer cup just adds to the magic. Baseball season or not, Fat Tuesday is always a fun stop to make at The Battery.

Multiple Locations

For lots of folks around Atlanta, Grindhouse is a weekly lunch stop thanks to their incredible smash burgers, crinkle fries and more. But for nights and weekends, they should be on your list too, thanks to their boozy shakes. Celebrate ATL with the Spottie Ottie Chocolicious – a chocolate oreo shake with chocolate whiskey – or go for something fruitier like the Booty Shake – peach shake with Evan Williams peach whiskey.

Muchacho – Frozen Marg + Frose

904 Memorial Dr, SE, Atlanta, GA 30316

Muchacho is one of Atlanta’s coolest restaurant brands, so it’s only fitting that they make great frozen cocktails. With a location right off the beltline trail on busy Memorial Drive, you’ll always find someone sipping on a coffee or cocktail in their beautiful patio space. The next time you visit, order the Frozen Marg with blanco tequila, orange shrub, agave and lime juice, or the Chillberry made with rum, yellow chartreuse and blueberry, A drink on their patio hits the spot like no other.

S.O.S. Tiki Bar – Frozen Painkilla

340 Church St, Decatur, GA 30030

There’s no better way to feel like you’re passing some time in the Pacific than at a tiki bar. Decatur’s S.O.S. Tiki Bar fits the bill and has all the Mai Tai’s and punch bowls you could want. But when it comes to frozen, you’ve gotta try the Frozen Painkilla – white rum, aged rum, coconut cream, orange and pineapple. They also let you “feel the burn” – a shot of extra rum in the Painkilla- for $2.

Trader Vic’s – Peachtree Punch

225 Courtland St, NE, Atlanta, GA 30303

There are two tiki bars on this list, but only one has been in Atlanta since 1976. Trader Vic’s is ATL’s legendary tiki bar, located in Midtown’s iconic Hilton hotel. Their signature cocktail is the frozen Peachtree Punch and beware – we don’t recommend that you drink it solo. It’s a fish bowl with light rum, peaches and orange, with “a soft Southern whisper of coconuts”.
