Snuggle Up at These Cozy Atlanta Restaurants
It’s sweater weather, and there’s not a lot of things more tempting to do than enjoy some comfort food in the warm glow of a fire pit in the company of a close friend or your significant other. Here are some extra homey restaurants, bars, and cafes that are especially irresistible this time of year.
1. The Bookhouse Pub
736 Ponce De Leon Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30306
Bar concepts don’t get much more adorable than this. This cozy little pub is decorated with books throughout and has all the comfy bookstore vibes. There is a small patio as well if you want to step outside. The menu is simple but does the job, and is a great destination in and of itself or an excellent starting point to a night out on Ponce.
2. Cafe Intermezzo
Multiple Locations
Cafe Intermezzo never gets old. It’s been a go to for a late night sweet tooth and first dates alike for years. The dim, sexy lighting and dainty but elegant bistro tables make for the coziest of atmospheres. Indulge in their heavenly cheesecakes and tarts, or sip on one of their sublime warm espressos. Or do both for the very best night!
3. Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party
1645 McLendon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
We’re obsessed with this cozy, cluttered, shabby chic tea shop! They are the perfect place to nestle in with a good book (or pick one out from the shelves around you–the proceeds benefit women’s education in India!) You must reserve it ahead of time, but their high tea service is excellent and always feels like a treat.
4. Estrellita
580 Woodward Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
This Filipino joint is about two feet wide, but jam packed full of flavor! It’s an extra cozy, family-owned spot in the heart of Grant Park serving up lumpia and other Filipino favorites like you wouldn’t believe. Open your palette and dig deep into some new flavors that will delight your taste buds. The lechon, or pork, is so dang good, and their lumpia are always a crowd pleaser for first-timers. But their staff will be happy to guide you if you need a little help ordering!
5. Julianna’s Crepes
775 Lake Ave Atlanta, GA 30307
Julianna’s has long been one of the cutest, dreamiest, and most underrated spots in Old Fourth Ward. They serve an assortment of sweet and savory crepes and hot cups of coffee. Sit outside the restaurant nestled among the ivy at one of their cute bistro tables and people-watch, or cozy up inside and linger over a warm latte.
6. Lloyd’s
900 DeKalb Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
You’ll enjoy the retro diner vibes at this homey hipster hangout. They have a menu full of comfort food including pizza and apps like shrimp cocktail and spinach & artichoke dip. Their cheesy bread with garlic oil is heavenly. They also have a crab night on Mondays and pitchers of beer. It’s a great, comfy dive to hang with a close group of friends (though be aware you’ll have trouble with seating if your party is larger than 5 or 6).
7. Urban Grind
962 Marietta Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
This Black-owned coffee shop is a great gem in West Midtown. They host plenty of community events to keep you coming back, and have great, lived in vintage furniture throughout that just invites you to stay awhile. It’s a lovely place to catch up with a friend or sit down and study or work remotely.
8. Yebo
56 E. Andrews Drive NW Atlanta, GA 30305
Yebo is one of Atlanta’s coolest concepts. In the warm months, it’s a “beach haus” that celebrates surf and beach culture and in the colder months, it transforms into a “ski haus” with outdoor fire pits and blankets galore for maximum cozy. It has seriously cool apres ski vibes and a seasonal menu that reflects South African flavors.
9. Fadó Irish Pub
273 Buckhead Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30305
Pubs truly just radiate a different level of coziness. From the typical dark wood interiors to the friendly staff, it’s easy to feel like you could stay in there forever. Fadó is no different. Head on in and find a cozy corner booth to get situated in. Order a couple rounds of beers and get some bites for the table to share like the big soft pretzel, pub sliders or the chicken boxty quesadilla.
10. Tuscany at Your Table
This adorable spot in the heart of Virginia-Highlands has all you could want from a little Italian deli and more! Pop in and just grab some coffees, or hang out for lunch and try some of their delicious paninis. They also have daily dinner specials so you’re always in for a treat when you come. One of the best parts about Tuscany is that they have an entire market section where you can grab some wonderful Italian treats and enjoy them at home. They offer wine tastings as well as cooking classes so be sure to check their website for more details if you’re looking for a unique date night!
