Plantains at Havana
For 30 years Havana has been satisfying the Cuban cravings of Atlanta. We started off here and while everything from the sandwich to the black beans were incredible, the stars of the show were these plantains. Question: It’s completely OK to eat one’s weight in plantains for breakfast right? Asking for a friend…
Salsa Bar at El Senor Taco
I am a condiment girl. I am also a taco girl. Those two things come together in beautiful harmony with the salsa bar at El Senor Taco. Filled with salsas and sauces of every heat level, fresh melon and pickled everything, this was Heaven.
Fresh Baguette at Lee’s Bakery
When you want to dip your toe into Vietnamese food, there is one place that everybody and their neighbor will recommend; Lee’s Bakery. And it’s for a good reason. Between bahn mi and pho, they have it covered. And the base of their bahn mi is their wonderfully fluffy French baguette. Light and airy on the inside with just enough pull. With one bite don’t be surprised if that toe dip turns into a full dive.

Drink Break at El Taco Veloz
Horchata and fresh pineapple juice at Taco Veloz were refreshing and perfect with the fresh made tacos.

Shrimp Poboy at Crawfish Shack
Still one of the best sandwiches in Atlanta. Fresh, sweet shrimp are tossed in a light cornmeal batter and fried just enough. And that remoulade? Please….more…now….
Pastries at Sweet Hut
If you’re a dessert fiend, stop what you’re doing and get yourself to Sweet Hut immediately. Whether you want something sweet or savory they will take care of your craving. Our favorites are any of their light yet rich cream puffs or cakes with thick white icing that will have you counting down the days until your next birthday.
Chengdu Cold Noodles at Gu’s Bistro
We finished up our journey at Gu’s Bistro to devour, well, anything in sight. When it’s hot and humid outside (hello, Atlanta!), this is a go-to dish. Cold noodles are tossed with a sweet and spicy sauce. Pair this with the spicy dried eggplant and an Allagash white for your new favorite Summer dinner.
