7 Hot, New Restaurants Just Opened in Atlanta
These new additions to the Atlanta dining scene all have enticing menus and dishes that’ll taste excellent for takeout tonight.
1. Talat Market
Talat Market started out as a pop-up that had foodies all over Atlanta obsessed, but now they have their very own brick and mortar restaurant in the Downtown / Summerhill neighborhood. They’re serving a takeout menu only at this time, but their food tastes just as delicious at home. There’s a lot more to their takeout menu than your typical Pad Thai and Panang curry. Try the the always comforting Thai dish, Jok, a type of rice porridge that Thai people especially love to enjoy at breakfast or their Kor Moo Yang, a very addicting BBQ pork dish that mixes savory with sweet. Available for pick-up!
2. Mac’s Chophouse
Mac’s Chophouse is a new steakhouse bringing a fantastic dining experience right to the heart of Marietta Square. Diners are raving about their sophisticated interiors, craft cocktails, expansive bourbon offerings, and expertly cooked steaks and steakhouse sides. Owner Randy “Mac” McCray and is the brains behind the operation, having also opened up the popular The Mill Kitchen and Bar and McCray’s Tavern. Open for lunch and dinner.
3. Warung Indonesian Halal Restaurant
For savory mie goreng and more Indonesian comfort favorites, take a trip to Buford Highway to try family-owned Warung Indonesian Halal Restaurant. Expect intense and unique flavors, thanks to spices and ingredients such as lemongrass, tamarind, and sambal, an Indonesian chili sauce. Like most Buford Highway spots, the interiors are pretty simple but isn’t that always the case with really authentic places?
4. Hot Dog Pete’s
The Summerhill neighborhood–and its dining scene in particular–is heating up. Hot Dog Pete’s is the newest addition, created by the folks over at Alabama BBQ chain Jim ‘N Nick’s. Their chargrilled hot dogs are custom blended by Fritz’s Meat & Superior Sausage, a Kansas City joint that’s been serving up award winning sausage since 1927. There’s a back patio as well if you want to dine al fresco. Or pick up a dog and take it to go!
5. Hyderabad House Atlanta
Add a bit of spice into your life with some Indian cuisine tonight! Hyderabad House Atlanta is a new Dunwoody spot that you can add to your list of places to get top-notch Indian cuisine. They especially take pride in their biryani, and diners also rave about their chicken lollipops, naan, and goat curry! Available for delivery or pick-up.
6. Sri Thai Kitchen & Sushi
New to Atlantic Station, Sri Thai Kitchen & Sushi has just opened up its third location. Expect Thai and Japanese fare, including an enticing lobster panag, “Three Flavors Fish” or deep fried snapper, crispy honey duck, and a garlic soft shell crab. 7. Grana
Grana has definitely been one of our most anticipated restaurant openings, and they finally opened up shop in March. Started by Executive Chef Pat Pascarella, who also brought us The White Bull in Decatur, Grana is serving up wood-fired Neopalitan pies, handcrafted pastas, and other Italian specialities “directly inspired by the robust southern Italian cooking” of his mother and grandmother, which is why things are kept simple, and classics are left untouched.”
