Chicken and the Egg

With locally sourced, farm-fresh ingredients and a menu inspired by grandma’s cooking, this “casually-sophisticated” country kitchen in Marietta will have you coming back for seconds…and thirds. The restaurant – whose name represents the cycle of life and sustainability – places tremendous emphasis on its impact on the planet.

But, as great as that is, its impact on your taste buds is what will really blow you away. Their signature “before supper” dish – Georgia Shrimp and Grits – features Gouda grits with a charred corn relish, Andouille sausage, fennel, and blistered tomato, all lightly bathed with a low country drizzle. Sound good? So does everything else on the “before supper” menu. Cedar-grilled Georgia peaches, hot crawfish and artichoke dip, fried green tomatoes with a pimento cheese fondue…

Yes, it would be easy to order one of everything on the “before supper” menu. It might be even easier to order one of each supper entrée. Apple cider and honey-glazed salmon served with Brussels sprouts, turnips, and sweet potatoes. Pan-seared sea scallops on a bed of creamed corn risotto with charred onion and arugula. Each ingredient has a distinct role in the culinary harmony of these dishes, and the farm-freshness makes all the difference when it comes to flavor.
