This Saturday 7/26 former Southern Living Travel Editor Morgan Murphy will check in to talk about his new book “Off The Eaten Path, Second Helpings.”   Steven Carse, the CEO of King Of Pops is coming by to tell us how one of Atlanta’s favorite businesses got started.   “Fried Chicken and Champagne, why the hell not?!” is the mantra of hot new restaurant Max’s Wine Dive. We’ll hear about it and do a gluten free fried chicken taste taste.  If sweets are your thing, don’t miss the crew from “Pastry Live” a 3 day event with the best pastry chefs from around the country.  We’ll also learn about a legendary olive oil family business, Sciabica Olive Oil with founder Nick Sciabica.  All of this and food news on this week’s Atlanta Eats Radio!

The Show

Each Saturday from 11am to 1pm on 640 WGST, one of Atlanta’s favorite media personalities & lifelong foodies Mara Davis tracks down some of Atlanta’s juiciest burgers and coolest patios, finds the gyro in town you have to try and the steak & cheese that reminds you of home. Atlanta Eats Radio talks to chefs, owners, bloggers and diners about one of the coolest restaurant scenes in the country! There’s always something to savor on Atlanta Eats Radio!

The Host

Born in New York and raised in Miami, Mara Davis has called Atlanta home for almost 20 years. A personality known for her humor, honesty and love of pop culture, she came to Atlanta for classic rock station, Z-93 which became Dave-FM. Since the last DaveFM broadcast, Mara joined Atlanta Eats TV as a co-host and hosts Atlanta Eats radio, a weekly talk show on the Atlanta food scene and beyond.  She has kept herself involved in Atlanta happenings, from regular spots on HLN and CNN to emceeing events for AID Atlanta, PALS (Pets Are Loving Support), Kate’s Club, The Atlanta Humane Society, Quality Care for Children, Taste of Atlanta and the Atlanta Film Festival.  She’s also a music contributor for Atlanta’s NPR station, 90.1 WABE.
