Mark your calendars: The city’s premier culinary benefit, Atlanta’s Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry, returns Thursday, May 7 the Georgia Aquarium. The highly anticipated 27th annual tasting event, which supports No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America, will feature Atlanta’s most celebrated chefs and mixologists united for a cause: making sure all children in this country get the healthy food they need.

More than 1,200 guests expected to attend will have the opportunity to sample signature fare and spirits from over 50 of the city’s most influential restaurants, and enjoy live, silent and beverage auctions, wine tastings and live entertainment. This year’s event will feature a dessert tasting room highlighting the city’s leading pastry chefs as well as a high-end cafeteria serving up childhood-inspired tastes from Atlanta’s renowned chef community.  Leading the 2015 event are Honorary Chair Dr. Sanjay Gupta, neurosurgeon and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, and Honorary Chef Wylie Dufresne of Alder restaurant in NYC.

One in five children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than 700,000 kids in Georgia. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with more than 107 million additional meals.

In 2014, Atlanta’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised more than $785,000, which can help feed children in need 7,850,000 healthy meals.
